The Church of the Prophet Elijah is located at an altitude of 304 m above sea level, on the southern slope of the Profitis Ilias Vouno volcano, about halfway between Fira and Oia.
It was built in 1750. It is a white building with a blue dome and a triple bell tower. It is surrounded by a small courtyard and several pine trees.
There are toilets near the church which are open during the season.
