BEACHES NEAR FIRA
Monolithos Beach
Monolithos Beach can be recommended for families with children, as the water here is quite shallow. The sandy beach has a dark volcanic colour. The beach is located right next to the airport but we didn’t find the noise to be a problem, especially that the Santorini airport is nothing like a big city aerodrome.
Vourvoulos Beach
On the east coast, south of Xiropigado beach, near the small port of Vourvoulou, there is a fairly popular beach, but not as crowded as some others on the island – Paralia Vourvoulos.
Xiropigado Beach
Xiropigado Beach in Santorini is located in the central part of the east coast of the island, approximately 2.5 km from the village of Vourvoulos. Xiropigado is situated close to two popular beaches: Pori and Vourvoulos. However, this is a wild beach.
