In the north-eastern part of the island lies a picturesque bay of Pori. It is a resting place for residents. They like it because of the calm nature of the sea and the well-sheltered beach. The reddish rocks surrounding it are arranged in the shape of a crescent, thanks to which people relaxing here rarely have to worry about the raging wind. The sand, as on the vast majority of Santorini beaches, consists of small, dark pebbles, while the water here is wonderfully clear.
Area
On the right side of the beach, you can see a small port. Nearby you can find two typical Greek taverns serving fresh seafood. An ideal place for a meal for lovers of Mediterranean cuisine. Not far, just 2 km from Pori, is Cape Columbo.
Amenities
Clear water and pleasant shadows from the surrounding rocks make up for the lack of on-site amenities. There are no sunbeds and umbrellas rentals. Unfortunately, the garbage can is also missing. When traveling around the island by car, it is worth taking some folding chairs, deckchairs, or blankets with you, as well as something to eat and drink. When you will be leaving this place, don’t forget to take your rubbish with you.
How to get here
Access to the beach is possible by car or bike. The island is small so the distances between its various points are not large. For example, the distance between Pori beach and the island’s capital Fira is 10 km. Although public transport does not reach this place, it is possible to order a minibus or a taxi. For the brave, the budget option will be hitchhiking.
