At the foot of the caldera, on the seashore, at the height of the village of Megalochori, is the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built into the volcanic rocks.
It can be reached by the “Heart of Santorini” trail leading from Megalochori. Below the church you will find the thermal springs of Plaka.
It is a single-nave, whitewashed building built into a rock face with a triple peach-coloured bell tower and a small courtyard.
A festive festival is held here every year on 28 September.
